Each year UWME assist hundreds of area businesses with customized fundraising campaigns designed to make it easy and efficient to donate money to the local community through payroll deduction and direct giving. The campaigns are held at the convenience of the businesses. United Ways make experts available during these presentations to speak with employees about where their donations go and how they help the community. United Way staff and volunteers manage all the details of these individual workplace campaigns, making it a simple but rewarding experience. Direct gifts from individuals not affiliated with a workplace campaign are also critical to the success of United Way Campaigns, and are a valuable and major component of each year’s fundraising efforts.
United Ways also host special events to raise funds and awareness. These range from benefit concerts and auctions to e-waste disposal events and golf tournaments.
